(2012 - 2016) Dimensions variable. Copper, steel, aluminum, continent-shaped branding tools, reclaimed wood from citrus crates, clementines, plywood, glass, paper.
Using custom tools to brand the world’s continents onto the skin of clementines and oranges, I feed this fruit to artists, critics and curators when I have studio visits and keep the resulting world map projections by flattening and drying the discarded rinds. I name the resulting projection after the person who peeled it and organize my collection of peels in a cabinet made from discarded citrus crates where the projections can be sorted by formal characteristics and author. Each drawer is a small vitrine that can be removed for observation.
